Harper pledges to widen NAFTA leak probe

Oswaldo I from Canada writes: I'm no Harper fan but I don't think this is his fault. Brodie made an offhand comment about a Clinton aide phoning to smooth things over. The CTV investigated and found an Obama aid had done a similar thing. It only became an issue because Obama lied and said that the aide never met with the Consulate two days after the CTV published Goolsbee's name. Obama should have just said the meeting had been misrepresented then the whole thing would have blown over.]]]]

[[The Clinton campaign has used the issue against Mr. Obama, saying he is insincere in his opposition to NAFTA. Ms. Clinton went on to win the primary in Ohio, where NAFTA is blamed by some for the loss of manufacturing jobs.]]

This is what makes it so bad!!!!!!! that Clinton campaigned on Obama being insincere when she knew full well it was her leak.

BLM moving ahead with Roan Plateau drilling plans

The U.S. Department of Interior on Thursday thanked Gov. Bill Ritter for suggesting additional restrictions for drilling for natural gas on top of the rich Roan Plateau in western Colorado, but said it was moving ahead with its own plan -- among the most restrictive plans the department has ever done.

Stephen Allred, the department's assistant secretary for land and minerals management, said he told Ritter that the department believes its plan can reach the objectives Ritter outlined in December, after his administration conducted a 120-day review of the government's plan.

"We greatly appreciate the insights, questions, comments, proposals and concerns the state of Colorado has brought to our attention in this important matter," Allred said in a statement released Thursday.
